Re: Course Redesign Grants--Fredonia's OER Initiative
Fredonia is pleased to be participating in the SUNY Open Education Resources initiative. Using OER in the classroom is one strategy for providing students with access to high-quality and affordable educational content. OER are any resources available at little or no cost that can be used for teaching, learning, or research. These resources can include textbooks, course readings, and other learning content, such as simulations, games, quizzes, and assessment tools.
Fredonia has received funding from SUNY to support the adoption of OER, and course redesign grants are available to faculty who are interested in participating in the OER initiative. This link provides information on the full initiative as well as the steps for applying.

OER Discovery Labs will be offered throughout the semester as a way for Fredonia faculty to consult with campus OER experts. These drop-in sessions will assist faculty with the process of finding, evaluating, and using open education resources (OER). Attendees will receive one-on-one assistance and will be provided with strategies for finding OER materials that support their teaching style and course learning outcomes. Click here for dates.

Please contact Dawn Eckenrode with any questions.
